Stitches

This is a drop in class from noon - 8 PM on Thursday September 19.

This means you can come anytime you want after noon and stay as long as you want up to 8 PM.

Techniques

Did you ever want to learn how to do beadweaving?  Have you ever heard the words brick stitch, peyote stitch or herringbone stitch and wonder what they mean?  Have you tried to learn a stitch but can't quite seem to get it or you need a refresher on a stitch?

Then this class is for you.

Come in and ask me to teach you any beadweaving stitch that you want to learn - here are a few:

  • Peyote - flat, tubular, odd count, even count, multi-drop, increase, decrease, diagonal

  • Brick stitch - flat circular, tubular, shaped, increase, decrease

  • Herringbone - flat, tubular, twisted tubular, accented

  • Nettting - horizontal, vertical, tubular, filled tubular, freeform

  • Square

  • Dasiy

  • Right Angle Weave and all it's variations - Double, modified, cubic, prismatic, flat, tubular

  • Pondo

  • Spirals - regular, flat, Russian, Dutch, African helix

  • St Petersburg

  • Triangle weave and chevron

  • Diamond weave

  • Albion

  • Hubble

  • and I'm sure there are more that I am missing

Cost

If you wish to bring your own supplies then the cost is $10 per hour with a minimum 1 hour charge.

The other option is to purchase all the needed supplies at the shop and then there is no per hour charge.  All needed supplies must be bought - if you are only buying a few of the items then the $10 per hour charge applies.

Needed Supplies

For most stitches a few contrasting colors of 8/0 seed beads will be fine.  The Right Angle Weave's are done better with 4mm beads and you could toss in some 8/0 or 11/0 seed beads,

Tools & such

These items will be available to use or you can bring your own:​

  • scissors​

These are other items you need to learn the techniques - not mandatory to buy but, they are also not supplied:

  • fireline, One-G or similar beading thread

  • beading needles

  • bead mat
